Rimmel London Kate Moss Idol Eyes Mascara Review

Hello everyone! Today I'll be writing a review on the new Rimmel London Kate Moss Idol Eyes Mascara. This is a product that I have been wanting to try for a while and one thing that really caught my attention was the fact that Rimmel collaborated with Kate Moss which is amazing considering I loved the Kate Moss lippies.

As most of you know, my holy grail mascara is the Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara which I have been loving for years. However, that mascara is waterproof and for the longest time I've been searching for a mascara that isn't waterproof due to the fact that it would be much easier to remove - but at the same time, doesn't smudge and is able to hold a curl. I have honestly tried to many mascaras and they always seem to fail me because of my stick straight asian lashes. With that being said, my eyelashes have grown a lot ever since I started removing my mascara with Olive Oil but still isn't as apparent and curly as I would like it to be.

I believe that this retails for AU$16.95 and contains 12ml of product at PRICELINE.

One of the things that I really liked about this mascara was the brush that comes with it. I think that the way that it curves around is so interesting and different. The bristles are also nice and separated to give your lashes that separated look which I personally love. I know some people really like the spider lashes look which is also achievable with multiple coats of this mascara.

I found that when I was applying this it really got a good hold of my lashes and ran the product through them evenly. I'm probably the laziest person out there when it comes to curling my lashes because my eye shape is so strange and I always seem to end up hurting myself.

So the fact that this pushed my lashes up without me having to curl them was a massive bonus. I also took photos down below showing the effect that it had (this is without me curling my lashes too!) so I'm sure that if you do curl them it would be much more voluminous.

One of my favourite things about this mascara was how easy it was to remove. There's nothing that I hate more than removing my makeup, thinking that it's all good, but waking up with panda red eyes.

Now for the things that I don't like about it. Overall I think it's a really amazing product and to be honest the only thing that I don't quite like about it is the fact that it gets really messy if I blink before letting it dry. However, that does happen with every mascara that isn't waterproof, and it's my fault for not curling my lashes. A tip that I found really helpful was to get a Q-tip and put moisturiser on the end to get off any unwanted excess mascara.

I hope all of this information was helpful and below I've inserted a before and after photo just to show you the full effect of the mascara. PS: I'm so sorry that you have to look at my brows in this state, I'm in that awkward stage where I'm trying to grow it out so that I can get them waxed again so hello caterpillars!

  1. Karyn <3 I haven't tried this mascara before, but it looks super pretty on you! It accentuates your lashes, but it still looks super natural :)
